Folks, I'm the guy who believes there's something more out there and I like to get others to feel the same because beliefs, both positive and negative, unfortunately, feed off affirmation. Call it God, call it energy, call it magic. Whatever that "something more" means, it is authentic and has nothing to do with money or materialism or coolness per se, though it is cool. It has more to do with inspiration and a feeling of solace and sometimes, euphoria.

Some time during high school, I realized I was totally uninspired by my future. When music came into my life in the form of my brother bringing home a total piece of shit guitar, something worthwhile struck me. It was a fascination to become part of what gave real feelings of freedom.

One fine day about 18 years ago, I learned to finger pick like Mississippi John Hurt from a Mississippian named Nate Simmons who I met in Middletown,CT, where I was going to college. Now I'm a ragtime and blues fingerpickin motherfucker and I incorporate separation of bass, chords and lead in much of what I do. Thanks, Nate.

Oh yeah, I forgot, I am also a mathematician. Got a Master's degree which I greatly appreciate because mathematical thought is profound and beautiful, but also because I never needed to wait tables to earn extra cash. I could pick up a class at community college or I could tutor. Those math requirements surely suck for math haters but they keep derelicts like me in service. Aren't you glad? Really, the subject of Mathematics was one and the same with philosophy back in the days of Spinoza, but with the advance of technological uses of mathematics and widely varying mathematical fields of study, the two became quite separated, though still essentially the same in prinicple. Both follow through on the consequences of basic premises to determine what we can say is true.
